Thanks to you all for taking the time to read and reply to my message.
Firstly, I'm no novice when it comes to TB's or racehorses, and know most of
the pitfalls of their unique characters as well as their physical/emotional
needs.
Secondly, money is no real object here, though I'm not about to part with a
lot of hard earned cash for no good reason. I just happen to like this
mare, and luckily so does my 29 year old TB mare !!
This horse has improved tremendously in just the two weeks I've had her, I
took her out for the first time last Wednesday and she was fabulous to ride.
Riding out on Sunday was fun too (she had her first look at the sea !!).
Finding a horse that would fit in with the 3 others I have was my main
concern, especially the 29yo TB, (she's the boss in the yard and very picky
about horses she likes).
Perhaps I am allowing my liking for this mare rule over my sense a little,
but I'll take your advice Ken and tell the owners they either take my offer
or get the mare off my land, I only hope it does call their bluff ! I'd
hate to see this sweet horse go back to the small scabby little field she
once existed in.
As for riding horses costing around £950, I'm sorry but that is absolute
nonsense !! Maybe it's the going price in some areas, but it's certainly
not here, though I take your point that anything is only worth what someone
is willing to pay for it.
Thanks again for all your replies.

I do not agree with that at all "its only worth what someone is willing to pay"
Have you considered forming a therapeutic horse service? Horses are unique and mystical creatures, it has been the newest wave on the mainland. Troubled youth ,teens elders alike. it has proven to create nurture skills a love and respect of animals and a sense of self esteem/self-worth. Because it would be a 503(c) you could hold fundraisers, promote community service (by allowing those with minor offences)uphold the courts order. I can since you hold higher value of the horse(s) than just making a profit. It is just a suggestion.
